Lithics

The ISAS Lithics Office is responsible for the documentation of archaeological materials made of stone and other minerals from Illinois sites. Staff focus on identifying raw material, function, and, where applicable, style and age of lithic artifacts as well as interpreting their role in the archaeological record. Lithics staff members are involved as consultants and analysts during all phases of the cultural resource management process.
